Agree the controls before rollout

Depending on the licence and agreed requirements, the design may include Microsoft Entra ID access policies and multi-factor authentication, Microsoft Purview retention or sensitivity labels, and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 protection. Permissions, administrative roles, retention periods and migration access must reflect decisions approved by the organisation. Features and licensing are checked individually rather than assumed from the Microsoft 365 name.

Where included, Teams, SharePoint and Power Automate workflows can support collaboration around Business Central processes. Email, files, application integrations and user adoption each need their own tests and responsible owner.

Prepare the migration and handover

Map the source mailboxes, shared files, permissions and business owners before transfer. Agree what will migrate, what will remain in the source system and how exceptions will be resolved. Acceptance checks should cover representative users, shared access, mail flow and document availability, with a clear cut-over plan and support contact.

We assess the current environment, users, data and security priorities. Tenant design and responsibilities are agreed before migration. Testing covers mail flow, file access, permissions and relevant integrations. Go-live planning includes user communications, exception handling and support arrangements.

Controls and features vary by subscription and configuration. The organisation approves security policies, data classification and retention requirements. Technical configuration supports those decisions but does not guarantee security, productivity gains or PDPA compliance. Delivery and ongoing support follow the agreed engagement terms.
